Setting Intentions w/ The Crown Healer: Exploring mindfulness and purpose!
Despite the chaos that we may be overstimulated by in our own “reality”, it’s easy to get caught up in feeling so routined. Having to be responsible, and being easily distracted by things. We then often find ourselves moving through life on autopilot, feeling robotic to where our momentum builds us up just for us to crash. This is where the practice of setting intentions can make a drastic difference not only in our day but for our wellbeing and peace of mind. We should always strive to consciously decide how we want to approach each day, we can cultivate a life that aligns with our values, goals, and deepest desires.
Setting intentions can be a tool of life that helps us to create a sense of purpose and direction, grounding us in the present while also guiding us towards our future aspirations.
A few things I like to practice that may help you as well!
1. Reflect on values:
Take the time to reflect on what truly matters to you. Take as much time as you need actually because who to say you don’t owe it to yourself?! What are your core values? What brings you joy and fulfillment? Understanding your values helps to create intentions that are aligned with your authentic self. Sit back in your true nature and see it through!
2. Visualize what an ideal day may look like to you:
Close your eyes and imagine how you want your day to unfold. How do you want to feel? How do you want to interact with others? What kind of energy do you want to bring into your day to day? Visualization can help to clarify your intentions and make them more tangible.
3. Put the pen to paper and write down your intentions:
Put your intentions into words and write them down. This act of writing helps to solidify your intentions and bring them into the physical realm. Use positive and affirmative language, focusing on what you want to embrace rather than what you want to avoid.
4. Keep it simple, fun and focused:
Rather than setting multiple intentions, start with one or two that resonate most strongly with you. Keeping it simple helps you to stay focused and more likely to integrate your intentions into your daily life.
5. Anchor your intentions:
One of my personal favs! Find a way to remind yourself of your intentions throughout the day. This could be through a morning ritual, a visual reminder like a sticky note or a piece of jewelry, or setting an alarm on your phone with a reminder.
6. Practice mindfulness:
Throughout the day, practice bringing your awareness back to your intentions. Notice how they influence your thoughts, actions, and interactions. If you find yourself straying from your intentions, gently guide yourself back without judgment.
7. Reflect and adjust:
At the end of the day, take a few moments to reflect on how your intentions shaped your experiences. What went well? What challenges did you encounter? Use this reflection to adjust and refine your intentions for the next day.
Intentional affirmations to keep us all inspired!
- Today, I will approach my work with curiosity and an open mind.
- I intend to listen deeply and communicate with compassion.
- I will prioritize my well-being by taking breaks and nourishing my body.
- I intend to be present in each moment and embrace the here and now.
- I will approach challenges with a sense of resilience and creativity.
Setting intentions is a powerful practice that can transform the way you live. It’s about creating a life that is aligned with your values and desires, and being proactive in how you show up each day. By starting with small, simple intentions, you can begin to cultivate a more mindful and purposeful life.
Remember, it’s not about being perfect. It’s about being intentional. As you move through your day, keep your intentions in mind and allow them to guide your actions and interactions. Over time, you’ll find that this practice can lead to greater clarity, fulfillment, and a deeper sense of connection to yourself and the world around you.
I hope this blog bring you much ease, clarity and peace of mind.
